Maintenance of devices
By Christian · 18 October 2026
If a device in your system is not working as expected, you can perform troubleshooting directly through the app.
Start maintenance on the device by selecting it in the room where it is installed. If the device displays a warning triangle, you can also start maintenance by tapping the warning icon.
On the Maintenance page, select Run Maintenance Now. The system will then scan the device for errors and attempt to correct them automatically where possible.
During the maintenance process, the system checks:
- The connection to the device
- Whether the device has been added as the correct type
- Whether the device has the required software version
- Whether there are any configuration errors
Explanation of the Maintenance Sections
When Run Troubleshooting is started, the system automatically checks whether all settings are correct and attempts to resolve any detected issues. Therefore, we recommend running troubleshooting before using the individual maintenance menus.
Connection
This section shows the quality of the connection to the device.
The home's electrical phases are displayed, along with the connection quality for each phase. Only one phase needs to have a signal quality above 50% for the device to operate optimally.
The checkmark indicates which phase the device is currently using to communicate with the system.
Type
This section displays the device type, for example whether the device is a socket outlet, light outlet, or another device type.
If the device has been added with the wrong type, the values for Assigned Type and Device Type will not match.
If this occurs, select Change Device ID and enter the correct ID.
Software
This section displays the device's software version.
The Required Software Version indicates the minimum version needed for the device to provide full functionality.
You can also start a software update from this page.
Configuration
This section compares the configuration stored on the ZenseHome Box with the configuration stored in the app.
If the two configurations do not match, a configuration error will occur.
What Happens When a Device Is Configured?
When a device is configured, the information entered in the app is also stored on the ZenseHome Box.
This ensures that the settings and actions you have configured are transferred to the system and executed as intended.
