Setup of Automatic Dimming

By Christian · 9 October 2026

The Automatic Dimming function dims the light after a specified period of time following activation by a motion sensor. Automatic Dimming can be controlled either by the device's built-in motion sensor or by another motion sensor within the ZenseHome system.

Automatic Dimming: On

When Automatic Dimming is enabled, the "Dim after" and "Dim level" settings must be configured.

For example, if "Dim after" is set to 5 minutes and "Dim level" is set to 50%, the light will dim to 50% brightness 5 minutes after motion was last detected.

Automatic Dimming: Scheduled

When Automatic Dimming is configured to run on a schedule, the light will only dim automatically during a specified time period.

For example, the light can be configured to dim automatically between sunset and 10:00 PM.

Configuration of Automatic Dimming

Automatic Dimming can be configured on all devices with built-in dimming functionality. To do this: Select the device. Choose "Automatic Dimming"

In the top field, select "Scheduled", then configure: "Dim after" to the desired time period and "Dim level" to the desired brightness level.
Finally, create a schedule by selecting the gren plus (+) icon next to "Schedule". A new screen will open, where you can select: The start and end time and the weekdays on which the schedule should apply.

Once saved, the Automatic Dimming schedule will become active.
