Change owner of an installation

By Marc_adm · 30 September 2026

The new owner is able to take ownership of a zensehome system from the previous owner. The previous owner does not have to do anything.

The instructions are given below. The new owner are welcome to contact support@zensehome.com, to get any help if something does not work accordingly.

There is a known bug in the software of taking over a zensehome box/system, but only if the house' Wi-Fi router works with IPV6 addresses. Most routeres does not have this enebled but if yours does and you cannot turn it of, then contact support@zensehome.com and we will help out.

First step - The box needs to be connected to the internet

If the new owner has their own Wi-Fi up and running, the box needs to be connected to the Wi-Fi router before being online.

  • If the light in the box is a solid red, then the box is already connectet to a network.
  • If there is no light in the box, it needs to be turned of by cutting the power to it. Then connect the power again.
  • If the box is flashing slowly, it is trying to get a connection.
  • If the light in the box is flashing 3 times quick followed by a pause, then the box can be connected to a new network, click here to find a guide to conneect your box to Wi-Fi.

A network connection for the box can also be done by cable. A networkcable will need to be connected the the Wi-Fi router and the zensehome box. The box will now be connected to your network.

Second step - Connect the zensehome app to the box

Start by creating an account on the zensehome app:

If you already have an account on the zensehome app, please continue to the next step below
Connect the box to the owners user on the zensehome app

  • The phone that is running the app needs to be connected to the same Wi-Fi router as the box. The box may only be connected by Wi-Fi OR network cable while the phone is connected to Wi-Fi.
    • While connecting a phone to the box, the box can only have internet access by Wi-Fi only OR a network cable. If your box has both Wi-Fi and a network cable connected, please disconnect the cable while configuring new ownership.
  • The new owner will then need to add the new zensehome box to their app, by entering the box ID-number in the app and choosing an optional name for their zensehome system.
  • A little notification box will appear on the phonescreen asking if you want to "take over" the address. Please click yes. (Some may experience a notification asking for the app to be able to connect to devices via Wi-Fi. Please accept, and connect the zensehome box again)
  • Derefter burde den nye ejer have adgang til boksen via sin app. Den forrige ejer vil nu være smidt af systemet og ikke have adgang til det.
  • The new owner should now have access to the bix via their app. The previous owner will now be kicked from access to the system.
