Connection debugging

Check the red light seen through small window in the front of the box.

Solid red light

  • All good, box is connected to the internet and to the ZenseHome servers.
    • Note: in some older boxes which haven't been firmware updated to the newest version, if the computer inside the box is completely dead, then the red LED on the front of the box will show as solid red as well.
    • If you are having problems with your box even though the red LED on the front of the box is solid, then check the LED lights on the top of the box in the small slot next to the SD card. There is a red and a green LED inside the slot. When you restart the box, the red LED on the top will be solid and the green LED will blink randomly, showing you when the SD card is being accessed. Note that the green LED is not as bright as the red LED, so make sure you check properly. It shows most activity after a fresh reboot. If the green LED is completely dead (or maybe a single blink and then nothing more), then that indicates that the computer inside the box is completely dead as well and the box needs to be replaced -

No red light

  • Power is not getting to the box.
    • Either there is something wrong with the supply to the box
    • or there is a problem on the box with the on board power converters.
    • Try to restart the box by shutting it down and starting it up again.

Slow and constant flashing red light

  • The box has power, and is starting up.
    • It should go to solid or to a flashing pattern around 30 seconds after startup.
    • If it does not stop flashing after 30-40 seconds, then it means that the computer inside the box is not working.
